Zoe Maitland

Zoë trained at the Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she graduated in 1995. Her teachers since then have included the late Mary Thomas and Alison Pearce, both of them professors at the Royal Academy of Music.

Her operatic roles have included Antonia in Tales of Hoffman, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro and Dido in Dido and Aeneas.

Recent oratorio work has included Bach’s Magnificat with Cantoris in Wellington, Mozart’s Coronation Mass and the demanding soprano role in Carmina Burana. She also enjoys giving recitals and concerts, most recently exploring repertoire for clarinet, voice and piano of Schubert and Spohr. She has been guest soloist with the world renowned Morriston Orpheus Choir.

Having been a member of Britain’s National Youth Choir at the time of its visit to New Zealand in 1992, Zoë has continued to sing choral music. She belonged to various chamber choirs in Devon and London. She was also a founder member of the women’s voices ensemble, Lyrica.

What Our Clients Say:

We would like to thank you for your help with our wedding. Both yourself and Zoe were fabulous. We had a wonderful, emotional, celebratory day. Our guests all became emotional during the service and you set them off with the Flower duet. When we went to sign the marriage register apparently Zoe and yourself killed our congregation! We are told that there were burly northern builders weeping and all the children were mesmerised by your voices. People talked of how you made the hair stand up on the back of their necks. To be honest this is just what we hoped for, so a huge thank you for that.
The day after we spoke to one of my uncles and played the website audio sample back to him...he burst into tears again. Lovely.

"What a wonderful day we had, particularly due to you! It was the most wonderful finish to a great afternoon. Everyone was surprised, for a start, and then enthralled, and finally amused!!

A huge thank you to Zoe and Kiran for singing so wonderfully at our wedding. They were absolutely amazing, even better than we had anticipated. All the guests were talking about them and how good they were.
